昨日冬至，和朋友吃飯聊到鬼魅之類，勾起了我看恐怖片的願望，找到一部片子，叫做Imago mortis的片子，雖然歸類與恐怖電影，但是對我而言不算是恐怖片，情節很一般（我high點較高），影片場景很吸引人，比較vintage，關鍵是有一箇機器叫做Thanatography，被翻譯成為死願儀（死亡之願望？）。我是機械控，就看著這個機器把整個片子看完了。 影片中的這個機械的使用意圖是用人類視網膜做底片，也就是說，這個機器的快門就是殺人按鈕。把機器固定與人的頭部，撐開對方的眼睛，讓他的眼球成為鏡頭和底片，只能固定在一箇位置觀看，按下“快門”的同時，你的眼球就被扯出來拉！你眼球內的部份組織紀錄了你死亡的同時看到的世界，編劇意圖在此。 把人體看作機械使用或者成為一總新式機械生物合成體是想當cool的，也有一些醫學和宗教對於眼睛看到的最後世界有所描述。 我隨後google了Thanatography，完全沒找到這個機器，純屬虛構，而他的詞義是： n. description of person's death. thanatognomonic, a. indicating death. thanatoid, a.apparently dead. thanatology, n. study, description or theory of death. thanatophidian, n.venomous snake. thanatopsis, n. meditation on death. thanatosis, n. necrosis; state imitating death. thanatousia, n. funeral rites. 1.
